While we are waiting on the mail to deliver our 30th Anniversary of Nevermind, thought we would enjoy the video of “Breed” from the Nirvana Live at Paradiso concert. This performance is from the Nevermind tour and took place in live at Paradiso in Amsterdam, Netherlands 1991. The 30th Anniversary of Nevermind was featured in our new music releases for 11/12/2021 and we will have a full review up soon.

Nirvana Live at Paradiso in Amsterdam

The show was recorded on November 25, 1991. Originally the show was suppose to be at Melkweg on 11/24/91 but needed moved to a larger venue. The show was performed by Kurt Cobain (vocals, guitar), Krist Novoselic (bass) and Dave Grohl (drums, backing vocals).

Live at Paradiso is a great performance showing the raw energy and drive of the band from the Nevermind period. There have been some unofficial releases of the full show, both in video and audio, over the years but many lacked in the quality department. In 2006 there was an official release, “Live! Tonight! Sold Out!!” but it does not include the entire show. For the 30th anniversary Nevermind release we are getting a complete remaster of the show, both audio and Blu-ray (Blu-ray included with the Super Deluxe CD edition).

Where to buy Nirvana Live at Paradiso?

Unfortunately the Blu-ray is not offered for sale individually yet so the only way to get the video of the performance is from the Nevermind 30th Anniversary Super Deluxe CD set. The 5 disc Super Deluxe CD set includes the remaster of Nevermind along with audio discs of 4 Nevermind era concerts: Live at the Paradiso in Amsterdam, Netherlands (Nov. 25, 1991); Live at Del Mar Fairgrounds in Del Mar, California (Dec. 28, 1991); Live at the Palace in Melbourne, Australia (Feb. 1, 1992); and Live at the Nakano Sunplaza in Tokyo, Japan (Feb. 19, 1992).

I really hope the Blu-ray is made available for individual purchase down the line. When the 30th Anniversary Nevermind was first announced I was pleased to see that they focused on the live performances this time around. Ten years ago with the 20th anniversary of Nevermind we got Live at the Paramount but most of the focus on the deluxe sets was around rehearsals and outtakes. Nice to see them change it up.

To get the remastered audio it is available again on the 5 disc super deluxe cd set and the Nirvana Nevermind 30th Anniversary 8 LP Super Deluxe set (not available until 2022). If you are OK with not having a physical copy of the Nevermind era concerts, I expect streaming services to have the deluxe sets so check your favorite streaming service to check out the shows.
