This week we are doing a special Record Store Day Black Friday for our new releases coming out on 11-26-2021. Below you will find everything you need to know about RSD Black Friday 2021 including our top releases, how to find local record stores and up-to date information on delays of scheduled releases.

For me, RSD has always been about more than getting nifty new vinyl releases. It is a chance to support my local record shops and also meet up with other music lovers that I may only get to see once or twice a year. In normal non-pandemic times, it is usually a full day of swapping stories with friends, listening parties and a celebration of community.

Although with the pandemic, the Black Friday Record Store day for 2021 will be a little different, I am still looking forward to seeing some old friends and picking up some new releases. We are not lacking in releases to get excited about this year with releases from the likes of Aerosmith, Fleetwood Mac, Motorhead, Billie Eilish, Jimi Hendrix, Evanescence and Ozzy Osbourne, just to name a few. Below are my top picks for the Record Store Day Black Friday 2021.

Aerosmith 1971: The Road Starts Hear – Boston 1971: A historic early recording of Aerosmith in their rehearsal room – just the band, crew and friends captured on Joe Perry’s tape recorder. This never-before-heard performance showcases the early, raw talent of this future Hall Of Fame band, one year before signing to Columbia Records, and two years before their eponymous debut, which featured many of these songs, including their enduring anthem ”Dream On”. Limited to 10000

Fleetwood-Mac-Alternate-Live

Fleetwood Mac Alternate Live – A fourteen-song LP pulled from the Fleetwood Mac Super Deluxe release, including a further seven songs from the Tusk tour, four from the 1977 Rumours tour and three from the 1982 Mirage tour. Released for RSD Black Friday for the first time on double vinyl. Limited to 6000

Billie Eilish No Time to Die – No Time To Die (Live from the BRIT AWARDS)” + “No Time to Die (Demo)’.
Side A is a live version of Billie’s theme song for the James Bond film No Time To Die, and Side B is a demo version that has never been released. Limited to 15000

Blackberry Smoke Stoned – This album was recorded, mixed and mastered live to a vinyl master, in one take, on the evening of November 6th 2020 at Welcome To 1979 studio in Nashville. There were no overdubs, edits, punch-ins, remixes or remastering. This type of recording is very rare due to the technical and creative difficulty associated with it. Once the recording has started it cannot stop until the end of the side. You are hearing one complete take per side of the record, which is no easy feat for all involved! Limited to 2500

Charlie Parker Bird in LA – Previously unreleased historic recordings from Charlie Parker’s legendary and highly eventful visits to Los Angeles. 4 LP RSD first release.

Ozzy Osbourne No More Tears Picture Disc

Ozzy Osbourne No More Tears – Considered one of his most successful and most popular, No More Tears is Ozzy Osbourne’s sixth solo studio album, in the Top Ten upon its release in September 1991. Featuring some of Zakk Wylde’s best-ever guitar work, along with four songs co-written by Motörhead’s Lemmy Kilmister, No More Tears contains some of the biggest songs of Ozzy’s career, including the Top 5 rock radio hits “No More Tears” and “Mama, I’m Coming Home” (the latter also his highest charting Top 40 radio track), along with the Grammy®-winning song “I Don’t Want to Change the World.” No More Tears went on to become quadruple-platinum in the US, becoming one of Ozzy’s two best-selling albums alongside his groundbreaking solo debut Blizzard of Ozz. Limited to 9200

Saigon Kick The Lizard – The 1992 sophomore release from this hard-rockin’ Miami band ran the gamut from Beatle-esque pop to Led Zep heaviosity and went Gold in the process! The Lizard even scored a minor MTV hit with the acoustic song “Love Is on the Way,” that’s how stylistically diverse this record is. Never released on vinyl in the US, The Lizard comes in reptilian green marbled vinyl limited to 2500 copies worldwide, with jacket and printed inner sleeve, complete with lyrics.

Chet Baker Albert’s House – Chet Baker is highly regarded as one of jazz’s greatest trumpet players, and he recorded numerous albums over his 35 year recording career. Recorded in 1969, Albert’s House features eleven instrumental compositions by Steve Allen, who produced the recording session to assist Baker in restarting his career after a horrific dental injury in ’68. The sessions feature an all-star group of players with Paul Smith on keyboards, Barney Kessel on guitar, Jim Hughart on bass and Frank Capp (of Wrecking Crew fame) on drums.

Evanescence Evanescence – First released in 2011, Evanescence followed the immense success of global chart-toppers Fallen and The Open Door. Singer Amy Lee described landing on the epononymous title as being “about falling back in love with this thing, with Evanescence” adding that “it just felt like this is who we are.” Featuring the hit singles “What You Want,” “My Heart is Broken” and “Lost in Paradise,” Evanescence debuted at No.1 on the Billboard 200, also reaching Top 5 in the UK, Canada, Australia, and across Europe. Marking the album’s 10th anniversary, this special pressing will be available on purple smoke vinyl and is limited to 8,000 copies worldwide.

Angelo Badalamenti Blue Velvet (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) (Deluxe Edition) — Generally considered one of the Top 50 soundtracks of all times, Angelo Badalamenti’s dark original score was complemented by a handful of powerful songs prominently featured in the film, most notably from Roy Orbison and Julee Cruise.  This was the first time Angelo and David Lynch worked together and the pairing has been a fruitful one henceforth.  Both men have been heavily involved in this deluxe edition expansion, contributing to new liner and shaping the audio program, which comes directly off the unedited master tapes. Bobby Vinton’s “Blue Velvet” has also been added to the tracklist for the first time.  Pressed on marbled blue vinyl, and album art features the original art from the Italian movie poster designed by Enzo Sciotti.

Big Brother & The Holding Company (featuring Janis Joplin) Combination of the Two: Live at the Monterey International Pop Festival — Big Brother performed at the Monterey Pop festival on both Saturday June 17 and Sunday June 18, 1967. Both sets are included on this RSD Black Friday release pressed on psychedelic color vinyl in a high-gloss tip-on jacket.

Jimi Hendrix Paris 67 Record Store Day Black Friday 2021

The Jimi Hendrix Experience Paris 67 — Another amazing release from the official Jimi Hendrix “bootleg label” Dagger Records, this raw, direct to two-track, live recording from the Olympia Theatre in Paris was captured for French national radio and documents the Experience’s triumphant return to France almost one year from the date of their 1966 debut. Recorded on October 9, 1967, The Experience were in top form, roaring out of the gate with “Stone Free,” and following with vibrant renditions of “Hey Joe,” “Fire,” “The Wind Cries Mary” and “Catfish Blues.” “Rock Me Baby” and a compact “Red House” prefaced a grinding, muscular take of “Purple Haze,” followed by “Wild Thing,” replete with a rousing, tongue-in-cheek lead vocal that emphatically closed the show. Released for RSD Black Friday on red and blue mixed vinyl.

Motorhead The Lost Tapes Vol.1 (Live In Madrid 1995) — Previously unreleased live album, created from a set of tapes recently discovered in Lemmy’s archive. This show was recorded in Madrid, Spain in 1995 on the Sacrifice tour and sees the band at their ferocious best.
